10p & 20 sen Mixed Up...

Went to the shop today

To buy myself a loaf of bread

The casher said £1.30 please

So I gave her 1 gold coin and 3 silver coin

She said " Sorry, you're 10p short"

"But I thought I've given you the correct amount" I said

She said "This is not 10p coin" while giving me back the 20 sen

"So sorry, went back to Malaysia recently" I apologizes

Hmmm, why did I still have that 20 sen in my jean pocket...

Result SPM...

Hisyam - Lina Kemalangan...

Baru dapat berita yang jiran kami Hisyam mengalami kemalangan dan kini dirawat di Royal Infirmary Hospital, Leicester. Mengalami kecederaan spinal, brain & shoulder bruising. Moga dimudahkan urusan dan pulih dengan segera. Update - Hisyam telah dilanggar oleh sebuah bas di Town Centre. Bas dipandu laju dan sangat rapat dengan bahu jalan.

Maksudnya:(Iaitu) orang-orang yang apabila mereka ditimpa oleh sesuatu kesusahan, mereka berkata: “Sesungguhnya Kami adalah kepunyaan Allah dan kepada Allah jualah Kami kembali.” (Al Baqarah 02:156)

Nabi juga berpesan jika ditimpa musibah, supaya ditambahkan pula dengan doa:

Maksudnya :“Sesungguhnya kami milik Allah dan kepadaNya kami akan kembali (pada hari kiamat). Ya Allah! Berilah pahala kepadaku dan gantilah aku dengan lebih baik(dari musibahku).”

Moga Lina & Faheem tabah menghadapi musibah ini...

What they inspect...

Sent the car for it's annual MOT test today at Kwik - Fit Leicester. Why at Leicester? Because the Kwik - Fit centre at L'boro is fully booked till the 23rd March, exactly when the current MOT expires. They only charge £35 when booked and paid online. As they also offer air - cond recharge for £25 instead of £49 when booked with the MOT test, I thought, why not? Now it is really chilly in the car and the heating the car with the heater on is very nice now, considering it is still 10 degree outside.

While waiting, went to the National Space Centre, as it was only a walking distance from the garage. They are hosting a British SciFi exhibition. As it was still early, manage to take some picture of the event preparation.

Pass without any fault. The mechanic was very impressed with the condition. So the car is in excellent condition for now, until next year. If only my PhD viva also is given "passed without any corrections". InsyaAllah. What a feeling...

KUL - DXB - LHR

Finally reached L'boro at 2:30pm today. After 5 hours transit at Dubai International Airport and waiting for the train to L'boro for 3 hours. It was a full flight back to LHR. The sudden cold weather does not help when you are suffering sore throat after eating marathon in Malaysia.

Thanks Lina, Sham & Athar for looking after the house and car when I'm not here...

Majlis menyambut menantu diadakan serantak dengan majlis kesyukuran perkahwinan Jah & Shaifudin. Ramai kenalan dan jiran - jiran yang sudi meluangkan masa untuk menghadiri majlis ini.
