Today, I've sent our car for it's annual service (engine oil & filter - £109.75) at MB Automotive L'boro. They even changed the air filter (£32.90), spark plug (£61.00) and the brake fluid (£30.49). They changed the rear brake light for no cost (cheers!!). Total cost: £234.14 + VAT £46.83 = £280.97.
But then they advice me to replace the front spring coil as it had snapped in two, the gear box pilot bush as transmission oil is leaking as well as changing the fuel filter. Estimate cost: £542.34. That is what you have to pay to drive a Mercedes.
In March, the MOT is due, so without these work done, it will be a sure fail, so if I like it or not, it had to be done. Not only for MOT, it is to ensure safety and comfort as well...

Wheel Alignment and Other Things...
Today, I've sent my car to National-Tyre L'boro for aligning my front tyres. The cost was initially £29.90 but after discount via a coupon that they sent me, it was reduced by 50% - making it £14.95.
Today, the University's exam starts and I am one of the invigilators who will monitor the exam proceedings.
Hafiz's Garmin was also received today. On eBay, the seller say that it was widescreen, but it was actually not. So how Hafiz? Is it ok? I've already installed the latest Malaysian, Singapore and Brunei's map onto it as well as updated the software. New voice and vehicles are also installed...

Bought this on eBay for £63 + £10 postage. Will upload Malaysian map and update the software once received. Hmmmm, thinking of selling my current Garmin Nuvi 610T for this one or can we swap this Hafiz? I'll take this, you can have the old one....

Tax Refund...
Got back from the office today and found a letter from HM Revenue & Customs laying on the floor. Due to the fact that I was paying too much tax when I was working last year, they now owe me £429.38. Attached together a check for that amount. Going to bank it in tomorrow, InsyaAllah. Alhamdulillah, lepas tiket flight balik (if I could get my UK Visa soon) untuk majlis perkahwinan Dr. Hafiz & Dr. Shakirah this February....12 Januari 2011

Just bought this replacement rear light from eBay for £19.00 + £ 14.99 for delivery as the fitted one was broken since the World Cup by some drunken yobs. Going to give it a go at fixing it on this weekend. Hope all goes well for this amateur mechanic...

Biometric Enrolment...
As part of applying extended UK visa, I have to provide the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) with my biometric information (fingerprints and photograph). So I went to Derby Biometric Enrolment Centre, 2nd Floor, Stuart House, Green Lane, Derby, DE1 1RS this morning. As my appointment is at 11:10 am, but I arrived there early because of predicted snow fall therefore drove there slowly. Upon arrival at 10:00 am, the receptionist says that I was too early. It didn't matter as I am willing to wait there till my appointment. Then she says, "Ok, Mr. Ismail, due to today is not a very busy day, we'll push your appointment to an earlier slot". By 10:30 am, all is done.
Now have to wait another 3-4 weeks for the visa application to complete...
